Prawns Fry / Prawns Roast is a treat for seafood lovers. Prawns / Shrimp are the delicacies of the sea world they have an exceptional taste while having lower calories.Today we are going to make prawns by first seasoning the shrimp and removing the excess moisture from the shrimp and then slow roasting them with minimum oil. This is the Kerala style of frying the prawns.Whenever I make this recipe it somehow disappears form the plate even before I finish cooking rice and other sides.

Serving Size         : 3 people

Cooking Time      : 15 min

preparation time : 20 min

Difficulty: Spice Level:
Quantity INGREDIENTS
500 g Deveined Prawns / Shrimp

For Marination
¼ tsp Turmeric powder
1 Tbsp. Chili powder
1 tsp  Garam Masala Powder
2 tsp Coriander powder
5 green chillies
1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
1 tsp Pepper powder

Salt to taste

For Spicy Prawns
3 Tbsp Oil
4 Green Chilies
200 g sliced onion

curry leaves for garnishing

Cooking Method

Step 1) Marinate the prawns with turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala powder, coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, pepper powder and salt and let it marinate for minimum 15 -20 minutes
(marination helps a lot )

Step 2) Cover and Cook the prawns without adding any oil or water (the prawns will cook it in its own juices).prawns will release lot of moisture (if needed add a little water ).Prawns will cook very fast so just 3- 5 minutes is enough

Step 3) Heat 3 tbsp oil ,green chillies , Curry leaves, thinly sliced onions required salt and saute the onions until nice soft and browned

Step 4) Add the cooked prawns and mix it well with the masala. Since we have already cooked the prawns it will not take much time to cook just 3 -4 minutes is enough.

Yummylicious prawns roast is ready....Woow Delicious !!!!! I cannot wait to taste it. Happy Cooking !!!

Notes:
  • Do not over cook the prawns ,if over cooked the prawns may turn hard and will be rubbery
  • Always use deveined prawns (vein of prawns is not good for health)
  • Goes excellent with curd rice and Dal Rice.

    1. Yes we can follow the same with fish. be a little careful while cooking because the fish is very delicate and soft, it cooks really fast.
