You can also add sugar instead of jaggery and some people love to add milk but i don't prefer to add milk i like to add water and coconut.

3/4 Cup | Jaggery |
1/2 cup | Grated Coconut |
1 tbsp | Ghee |
10-12 | Cashew nuts |
1/4 cup | Water |
pinch | Cardamom powder |
Cooking Method |
Step 1) in a sauce pan melt ghee , once the ghee is melted add cashews and roast until it turns golden. once the cahews turns golden take it off from the pan and transfer it to a bowl.
Now in the same pan melt jaggey with water and dissolve completely.
Step 2) Pour the melted jaggery on the aval (filter the jaggery syrup through a strainer to remove any impurities) .Mix it well and then add the grated coconut , pinch of cardamom powder (if you dont like the flavor of cardamom then you can skip) and also add the roasted cashew nuts.Mix well and let it stand for 5 minutes to soften a bit and then enjoy.

For Basundi Recipe:
- 1 cup flattened Rice / Aval
- 3/4 Cup Jaggery
- 1/2 cup Grated Coconut
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 10-12 Cashew nuts
- 1/4 cup Water
- pinch Cardamom powder
Instructions:
- roast cashews in ghee
- dissolve jaggery in water
- Filter jaggery and add it to the aval along with coconut, cardamom powder and roasted nuts
- mix well and enjoy !!!
