|1/2 kg||Chicken without bones|
|For frying the chicken|
|1/4 cup||All purpose flour /Maida|
|1/4 cup||Corn flour / Corn starch|
|Salt & pepper|
|For Orange Sauce|
|1 cup||Orange juice|
|1 tsp||Grated ginger|
|1 tsp||Grated Garlic|
|1/2 tsp||Chilli flakes|
|1 tbsp||Soy Sauce|
|1 tbsp||Corn starch + 2 tbsp water for slurry|
|1/2 tsp||Orange zest|
|Sesame seeds , spring Onions|
Step 1) In a mixing bowl beat egg and the add the chicken pieces and coat well.I have used boneless chicken pieces, thigh meat tastes best with this recipe.
Then season it with salt and pepper.After seasoning add corn starch and all purpose flour and ix well with the chicken.Make sure all the sides of the chicken pieces are nicely coated with the flour mixture.
Step 3) How to make Orange Sauce for Orange Chicken ?
In a pan heat oil and add minced Ginger, Garlic and chili flakes , give it a stir and add orange juice, Soy sauce, vinegar and honey (to balance the taste) ,you can also add sugar if you prefer.mix nicely and let the juice come to boil.
Once the juice starts bubbling add slurry (dissolve 1 tbsp of corn flour in some water and add it to the orange sauce) to thicken the sauce.Also add some orange zest (grate the skin of orange and add it to the sauce) to get nice lively flavor and taste.Allow the sauce to thicken a bit
That's it our sweet and tangy orange chicken is ready to be served with Fried rice or jasmine Rice. You can make this sauce in advance and keep it in fridge for a week so taht whenever we make chicen fries we have coat the leftover chicken with is orange sauce and enjoy. This recipe is very sililar to the one which we get in Panda Express Orange Chicken and is much healthier than any stor bough orange chicken.

Orange chicken is made with sweet and sour orange sauce mixed with crispy chicken and is lightly seasoned with spices. It is very famous in most of the Chinese restaurants like panda Express.It is an excellent combination with jasmine rice and fried rice.
For frying the chicken :
- 1/2 kg Chicken without bones
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cup All purpose flour /Maida
- 1/4 cup Corn flour / Corn starch
- Salt and pepper For Orange Sauce:
- 1 cup Orange juice
- 1 tsp Grated ginger
- 1 tsp Grated Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Chilli flakes
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 1/2 cup Grated Coconut
- 1 tbsp Corn starch + 2 tbsp water for slurry
- 11/2 tsp Orange zest For Garnishing:
- Sesame seeds , spring Onions
- Coat the chiekn with flour and fry the pieces until crisp
- Make orange sauce.
- Add the fried chicken and mix well.
- Garnish and serve it hot with Rice
