Tomato Ketchup is a world famous recipe which can go excellent with almost all types of fried snack and potatoes. This is a simple homemade Tomato sauce recipe which can be made easily. All we need is tomatoes and few seasoning ingredients. Lets see how to make this recipe.
Step 1) Wash the tomatoes and remove the eye of the tomatoes. Cut it into 4 pieces and add it to a pan, also add 1/4th of an onion, cloves, cinnamon, garlic. Cover and let it cook for 15-20 minutes or until the tomatoes are mushy.
Step 2) Turn off the heat and once the tomatoes are cooled transfer it to a blender and grind it smooth. Pass it through a filer to collect any chunks.
Step 3) Add the pureed tomatoes from step 2) to a wide pan and let it come to a boil. Then add vinegar, sugar, chili powder, salt and cook until the sauce is thickened. You can adjust the sourness of the sauce by adjusting the sugar.
Step 4) To check the consistency take a drop of sauce to a plate and tilt it, should stay in its place and should not be runny. Turn of the heat and let it cool. Once cooled store it in an air tight container and it stays good for 3 weeks in the refrigerator.
