|Quantity||Ingredients for making Omapodi recipe|
|1 cup||Kadalai maavu / Chickpea flour(100g)|
|1/4 cup||Rice flour|
|1/4 tsp||Turmeric powder|
|1 tbsp||Butter or Oil|
|For Omam Water|
|1 tbsp||Omam (Ajwain)|
Step 1) Into a blender add Omam and powder it, Finally add water and grind it again. Pass it through a filter and collect the clear omam water and keep it aside.
Step 2) Into a mixing bowl add besan, rice flour, turmeric powder, soft butter (or you can also add hot Oil ) salt, oil and asafoetida. Mix once and then gradually add omam water from step 1 and mix it to form a soft dough (chapathi dough) . I have use approximately 1/4 cup of Omam water.
Step 3) Place it inside idiyappam achu and press it into oil .Flip it halfyway and fry until bubbles subside.Break it into small pieces and keep it aside.
Step 4) Now trun off the heat and fry some curry leaves and add it to the omapodi and mix well.
That's it our delicious crunchy omapodi is ready to be enjoyed. Happy Cooking !!!
