Serving Size:   12 pc
Prep Time   :   10 min
Cook Time  :   30 min

Quantity Ingredients for making Motichoor ladoo recipe
For the Boondhi
1 cup Besan (kadalai maavu) (100 g)
3/4 cup Water approx
pinch of Orange food color
1/4 cup Oil for frying

For Sugar Syrup
1 cup Sugar (200 g)
1/2 cup Water
pinch of Cardamom powder
pinch of Orange food color

Extra
1/4 cup chopped cashews
1 tbsp Ghee

Cooking Method

Step 1) Into a mixing bowl add besan and add little water at first (1/4 cup) and mix it well without any lumps. Then add more water to form a watery batter (I have used a total of 3/4 cup water approximately). Add orange food color and combine well.(First add little water and make into smooth paste and then add more water to form a pouring consistency (if you add too much water at once you will end up with lumps so this way of making ensures lump free batter)).

Step 2) Heat a pan and fry the Boondis on medium-hot oil, Use a tiny hole ladle to make boondhis. Temperature of oil should be little high, as soon as you drop the batter it should float on the surface of the oil, else it will settle at the same place and will soak up lot of oil.

Step 3) Dissolve sugar in water and bring it to a boil(let it boil for 2 minutes). Then add cardamom powder and orange food color. Turn off the heat and add the fried bhoodis from step 2 and mix well. Now turn ON the heat and cook on low heat for 7-8 minutes or until they come together (until all the sugar syrup is been absorbed by the boondhis).

Step 4) Once they are well combined add chopped nuts and ghee, mix it again and turn off the heat. Transfer it to a bowl and let it cool down a little.

Step 5) Apply some ghee in your hands and start making ladoos.

That's it our delicious Motichoor laduu is ready to be enjoyed. Happy Cooking and happy festive season!!!
