Rava Kichadi is a simple yet healthy breakfast recipe famous in South India , This recipe is made with roasted Rava and vegetables which can be made under 15 minutes.

2 tbsp | Oil |
1/8 tsp | Mustard seeds |
1 tsp | Chana Dal |
1 tsp | Urad Dal |
4 | Green Chilies |
1 tsp | Chopped Ginger |
Curry leaves | |
10 -12 | Cashews |
1/2 tsp | Turmeric powder |
1 | Onion |
1 | Tomato |
1 Carrot, 6 Beans, 1/2 cup Green Peas | |
1 Cup | Rava / Sooji / Semolina |
2.5 cup | Water |
2 tbsp | Ghee |
required | Salt |
Cooking Method |
Step 1) Roast Rava for 3 to 4 minutes on medium heat and transfer it to a plate.
Step 2) Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, once the seeds pops out add chana dal, urad dal and saute it for few seconds, then add curry leaves, cashews and green chilies.
Then add copped onion and saute it for a couple of minutes.
Step 3) Add turmeric powder , Once the raw smell of the turmeric is gone add tomato and mix well.
Step 4) Now add the veggies - Carrot, beans and green peas and cook until the veggies are almost done also add salt 😥
Now add water and let it come to boil.
Step 5) Once the water comes to a boil gradually add the roasted rava and mix well without any lumps.
Once all the water has been absorbed by the rava add ghee and mix well. Turn off the heat.
That's it our delicious and simple Rava Kichadi recipe is ready to be served with thick coconut chutney or with sugar.
