Onion Bonda Recipe

Onion Bonda is a quick and easy recipe which can be made under 10 minutes.This Bonda is a perfect recipe for a busy evening day or on a cold rainy day . This recipe can be made in a fraction of time and never will fail on you, the ingredients required for making this recipe is really simple which is always available in our kitchen.Baking soda added to this recipe makes the bondas light and fluffy which makes more enjoyable. A small plate of Coconut chutney goes excellent and is a good companion with this recipe.

Quantity Ingredients for Onion Bonda Recipe
1 cup Chickpea flour / Kadalai maavu / Besan flour
1/4 cupRice flour
Green Chilies
1 inchGinger
3 tbspChopped Coriander leaves
1 springCurry leaves
1/4 tsp Asafoetida / Perungayam / Hing
1/4 tsp Baking soda
1/2-1 tsp Red chili powder

Required Salt

Water (1/2 cup approximately) 

Oil for frying

Cooking Method


Step 1) Bonda Mix:
In a mixing bowl add Chickpea flour , Rice flour, chopped Onion, Green Chilies, finely chopped ginger, Coriander leaves, curry leaves, Asafoetida, baking soda and Salt. Mix it well.


Step 2) Bonda Batter:
Now gradually add water and mix well to form a semi thick batter, The batter should not be too watery nor too thick. I have used approximately 1/2 cup of water for this recipe. 


Step 3) Frying Bonda:
Once the batter is ready lets fry the bondas, Oil should be on medium-high while frying, if the temperature of oil is low then the bondas will soak up lot of oil and will not be crispy.
Once all the sides are equally browned and crispy drain the oil and take it off from the pan.

Ingredients:
    For Bonda Recipe
  • 1 cup chickpea flour
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • Coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • required Salt
  • Required water
  • Oil fro frying
Instructions:
  1. In a mixing bowl combine all the above said ingredients
  2. Add water to for a semi thick batter
  3. Heat oil and fry the bondas until golden brown and crispy
  4. Our delicious Onion Bonda is ready to be served with coconut chutney and hot coffee.

  5. Maybe she forgot to mention just do accordingly with onions. I think one big onion is enough. No hates..she is doing great with vlogs and food recipes..but Steffi epdi ningga marunthingga vengayathey.. �� ur daughter is so cute. We love watching your vlogs nowadays..
