|Quantity||Ingredients for Masala Vada Recipe|
|1 cup||Channa Dal / Kadalai Paruppu|
|1 tsp||Fennel seeds|
|3 tbsp||Coriander leaves|
|1 spring||Curry leaves|
|Salt to taste|
|Oil for frying|
Step 1) Soaking:
Wash and soak Channa Dal / Kadalai Paruppu in water for 4 hours. Minimum 3-4 of soaking the dal is mandatory for nice masal vadai.
Step 4) Mixing:
Transfer the ground dal to a bowl and add finely chopped onions, Coriander leaves, curry leaves and required salt. Mix all the ingredients together well.
Take a small portion of the vada mix and make a ball, then place the ball at your palm and press it with your other hand to flatten a little bit.

- 1 cup Channa Dal
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 5-6 Garlic Cloves
- 1 inch Ginger
- 5-6 Green Chilies
- 1 tsp Fennel seeds
- 1 Onion
- 3 tbsp Coriander leaves
- 1 spring Curry leaves
- Salt to taste
- Soak Channa Dal in water for 4 hours
- Grind all the spices first
- Add dal and grind it coarsely
- Mix onion, coriander , curry leaves with the dal
- Make medium sized vadas and fry in hot oil until golden brown
- Our Crispy Masala vada / Paruppu Vadai is ready to be served hot with hot tea / coffee
