Bread Omelette Recipe

Bread Omelette is everyone’s favorite recipe made with bread and eggs - Bread covered in a thin layer of seasoned egg mixture . It is a very popular street food in India and often had for breakfast. There are lots of variations we can make with this recipe. I am sharing a basic egg Omelette Indian recipe which is quite easy to make and tastes delicious. To make it more interesting you can spread a layer of mint or coriander chutney or some chat masala on the top before serving. This is my go to recipe whenever i feel bored or run out of time, preparing breakfast during snowy days.

Quantity Ingredients for Bread Omelette
2 Slices of bread
3 large Eggs 
3 tbsp Onions (finely chopped)
2 tbsp Coriander leaves (finely chopped) 
Green Chilies (finely chopped) 
1/2 tsp Chili powder
1 tbspButter
1/4 tspPepper

Salt to taste
pinch of Chat Masala


Cooking Method

Step 1) Toasting Bread:
Toasting bread is optional but i prefer to toast my bread .Melt some butter in a pan and once the butter is melted place the bread slice and let it develop some nice color on both the sides..
Once they develop nice golden color on both the sides take it off from the pan.

Step 2) Egg Mixture:
In a bowl add the eggs and beat it nicely then add the rest of the ingredients  -finely chopped Onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, chili powder, salt and pepper. Mix well to combine everything together.

Step 3) Bread Omelette:
Now to make bread omelette. Heat a pan and grease with butter or oil, once the oil is hot add ½ of the egg mixture and spread it all over the pan to form a thin layer.
Now immediately place the toasted bread slice and let it cook for sometime.

Step 4) Folding:
Once the eggs are cooked fold the egg with the bread, cover the bread with the egg sheet from all the sides and cook for few more seconds.

Step 5) Garnishing:
Finally Sprinkle some chat masala on the top for extra taste and garnish with some coriander leaves on the top.

That’s it our bread omlette is ready to be served. You can serve this with mint, coriander chutney or with tomato Ketchup.

  • 2 Slices of bread
  • 3 large Eggs

  • Instructions:
    1. Tpast the bread
    2. beat eggs and mxin in onion, coriander leaves, green chilies,chili powder, salt and pepper
    3. Temper and add shallots, tomato,sambar powder, cooked dal, tamarind extract , water and salt
    4. Grease a pan and add half of the egg mixture and place the bread
    5. Fold and cover the bread with the egg
    6. Sprinkle some chat masala on the top
    7. Our Bread Omelette is ready to be served
