Chicken Kofta Curry

Written By Angela Steffi on Monday, November 28, 2016 | 10:54:00 PM

Chicken Kofta Curry is made with minced chicken or minced lamb meat cooked in a delicious creamy Curry. There are two ways to make koftas we can either fry the chicken balls in oil for some time and then add it to the curry or we can directly add the uncooked balls to the curry both tastes delicious.Frying the koftas gives a crispy outer layer and it is really loved by children and at the same time the one which we add directly soaks up all the flavor from from the curry and tastes heavenly .Today i have prepared both the methods you can follow whatever you like. Chicken Kofta Curry is an awesome side dish for naan, Rice varieties and lot more. " Indian Meatballs soaked in delicious creamy curry "

Step 3) After mixing make medium sized kofta balls, before that grease your hands with some oil so that the meat doesn't stick to your hands. Chicken koftas can be made in two ways you can either shallow fry them in oil for some time and then add it to the gravy to get crunchy taste or you can directly add them to the curry to get very soft koftas. Both the methods tastes simply delicious.
For your reference I am going to fry half of the kofta balls and the rest I am going to add directly to the gravy you can follow any of the method .

Step 4) Next to make base for our Kofta Curry add onions and tomatoes in a blender and grind it to a fine paste.I have ground the onions and tomatoes to get a smooth curry base you can also chop the onions and tomatoes very finely and add it to the curry.

Step 5) Now in a pan heat oil and add whole spices bay leaf, cinnamon stick. cardamom, cloves and cumin seeds and stir once. Then add Ginger garlic paste, green Chilies and turmeric powder and again mix it well and cook for few seconds.
Then add the onion tomato puree and cook it for 15-20 minutes to get rid of the raw smell.

Step 6) Once you see some oil oozing out of the mixture it is right ti,e to add the masalas Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Garam Masala powder, Yogurt to get a creamy texture (you can also add cream if you prefer).Add some water and bring the entire gravy to a boil.
