Coconut Burfi Recipe

Coconut burfi is a traditional Indian sweet which is make with just 2 main ingredients - Coconut and Sugar. This is a simple and an easy sweet recipe to make , which can be made under 15 minutes. Lets get started.

Serving size             : 4 -5

Preparation Time   : 5 minutes

Cooking Time         : 15 minutes


Quantity Ingredients for Coconut Burfi
2 Cup Grated coconut
1.5 Cup Sugar
3 tbsp Milk
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
1+1 tbsp Ghee ( 1 for roasting nuts and 1 to add at the end )
10 Cashews

Cooking Method


Step 1) Roasting Coconut:
Roast the grated coconut on a medium heat for about 2 minutes, do not brown the coconut. Then add sugar and milk to it. Mix it well and cook on a medium heat.Soon the sugar dissolves and become watery, Stir them in between to prevent burning.



Step 2 ) Roasting Nuts:
In the meanwhile lets roast some cashews, Melt ghee and roast the cahews until golden ( break the cashews into small pieces ) 


Step 3) Coconut Burfi:
Once the coconut sugar mixture thickens and leaves the sides of the pan add some cardamom powder to get nice flavor , 1 tbsp of ghee and also add the roasted cashews and mix again. 


Step 4) Pieces:
Grease a plate with some ghee and transfer the coconut mixture and shape it with a spoon ( grease the spoon with some ghee to prevent sticking). Once they are slightly cooled cut them into your desired shapes.



That's it our delicious coconut barfi is ready to be enjoyed with friends and family !!!
