Muttai sadam / egg rice

Egg rice is a simple yet delicious recipe made with just few ingredients which is easy to make , this recipe is a time saver which can be packed easily for lunch and kids enjoy this recipe at school. We dont need any side dish for this recipe because the egg itself acts as side dish.

Quantity Ingredients for making Egg rice recipe
2 +2 tbspOil
1/8 tsp mustard seeds
1,2,2 Cinnamon stick, Cardamom, cloves
1 tbsp Ginger Garlic paste
2 green chilies
1 spring Curry leaves
Onion
1 Tomato
4 Eggs
1 Onion
1/8 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Cumin powder
1/2 tsp Garam masala
1 tsp Chili powder
2 cup Cooked rice
required  Salt and pepper

Cooking Method


Step 1) Heat oil in a pan and temper with mustard seeds, cinnamon,cardamom, cloves, ginger garlic paste, green chilies,curry leaves and mix well. 

Step 2) Then add in chopped onion and cook until golden. Then add the masala - turmeric, chili powder, cumin powder,garam masala and mix well and cook for a couple of minutes. Then add chopped tomato and cook until soft. 

Step 3) Now in the same pan make space for the eggs and heat 2 tbsp oil and add in 4 eggs, required salt and pepper and let the egg cook for a minute. Now scramble the eggs and mix with the masala.

Step 4) Finally add cooked rice, coriander leaves and mix well with the egg masala mixture.
