Cauliflower Gravy

Cauliflower Gravy is an excellent companion for Roti and Chapathi. This cauliflower kurma is easy to make and goes excellent with parotta as well. Added veggies to this gravy adds more nutrients and Vitamin for our daily diet so it is tasty as well as healthy.You can add any vegetables of your choice.

Serving Size           : 4  people

Preparation Time  : 10 minutes

Cooking Time        : 30 minutes

Quantity Ingredients fro making Cauliflower Gravy
2 tbsp Oil
1 Bay Leaf
1 inch Cinnamon stick
2 cardamom pods
2 clove
1 tsp fennel seeds
1/4 tspMustard seeds
1/2 inch Ginger
2 Garlic cloves
2 Green chilies
1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Garam masala
2 tsp  Chili powder
2 Tomatoes
1 Potatoes
1/2 cup  Peas
1 Cauliflower
few Coriander leaves
few Curry leaves
required Water

For Coconut Paste (Base)
1/4 cup Grated Coconut
1 tbspRoasted Channa Dal
4-5 Cashew nuts
1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1/2 tsp Poppy seeds
required Water

Cooking Method


Step 1) In a blender add grated coconut, Roasted channa dal, Cumin seeds, Fennel seeds, cashews, poppy seeds and grind it to a smooth paste along with some water.

Step 2) Heat oil in a pan and once the oil is hot add bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves , mustard seeds and fennel seeds .Then add sliced onion and saute until the onions are golden.

Step 3) Then add some Ginger Garlic paste, green chilies and mix it. After the raw smell of ginger garlic paste is gone add tomatoes .

Step 4) Then add in the masalas - turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala and chili powder. Give it a stir and then add the Cauliflower  (I have added Peas and Potatoes for extra taste).Add required salt and finally add water.

Step 5) Cover and cook until the veggies are fully cooked. Finally add the cooconut paste from step 1, stir and cook for few more minutes.

Step 6) Finally add chopped coriander leaves, curry leaves and mix well. Coriander leaves gives good flavor and aroma to the Cauliflower Kuruma.
