Red Velvet Cake Recipe

Red velvet is a famous Romantic cake enjoyed by all group of people all the time. This cake is super soft and very light. Cream cheese frosting adds a special and unique taste to the cake. Lets see how to make this delicious red velvet cake .

Quantity Ingredients for Red velvet Cake Recipe

Dry Ingrendients  
2.5 cup All purpose flour / Maida (300g)
2 tbspUnsweetened Cocoa powder
2 tspBaking Powder
1/2 tspBaking Soda
1/2 tspSalt

Wet Ingrendients  
Eggs
1.5 cupSugar (300g)
1 cupOil (sunflower) 250 ml
1 cupCurd / yogurt 250 ml
1 tspVanilla extract 
1 tspRed food color

For Cream 
100 g Butter @ room temp
225 gCream Cheese @ room temp
1.75 cup powdered Sugar (350 gram)
1 tsp  Vanilla extract 

Cooking Method


Step 1) Into a mixing bowl add eggs and beat well.  Then add oil, curd, vanilla extract and mix them together. Finally add red food color and make a bright red batter.


Step 2) Sift all the dry ingredients together - all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt together into the same bowl. Do not over mix the batter.


Step 3) Divide the cake mix into 2 halves and transfer it into 2 - 9 inch baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake it for 20- 22 minutes at 350 F / 175 C . Check at 20 minutes, if the tooth pick inserted at the center comes out clean then the cakes are perfectly done


Step 4) Once the cake is cooled trim the cake to level it and save the trimmed pieces for decorating the cake.


Step 6) into a mixing bowl add butter (make sure the butter is at room temperature) beat it nicely with a electric beater for 2-3 minutes until soft and fluffy. Then add cream cheese (at room temperature) and beat it again until well combined. gradually add in the sifted powdered sugar and combine well to form a semi thick cream batter.



Step 7) Place a layer of the cake and apply cream cheese frosting on the top and then spread it evenly. Then place the second layer cake and cover it evenly with cream cheese on all the sides. Finally crumble the saves trimmed cake and add it to the edges to decorate the cake. Then some strawberries on top for final decoration.

    Velvet cake I tried but it didn't come up well...
    Can u suggest me one thing u have mentioned 300gms of flour and 300gms of sugar but y difference in cup measurements
