Idli Kurma

Idli Kurma is a delicious recipe which goes excellent with Idli and Dosa. This recipe requires just few ingredients and can be made under 20 minutes. This tasty curry is a go to recipe and can never fail on you. Lets get started.


Serving Size           : 4 people

Preparation Time  : 5 minutes

Cooking Time        : 20 minutes

Quantity Ingredients for Idli kurma
1 tbsp Oil
1/8 tsp Mustard seeds
1 Cinnamon
Cardamom
Cloves
1/2 tsp Fennel seeds
green chilies
1 springCurry leaves
1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
2 Onions
3 small Tomatoes
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tspCoriander powder
2 tspChili powder

For Coconut paste
1/2 cup Coconut
1/2 tspFennel seeds
1 tsppoppy seeds
4Cashews

Cooking Method


Step 1) Heat oil and temper with mustard , Cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, fennel, curry leaves and green chilies, ginger garlic paste. Then add in Onions and saute it for a couple of minutes.

Step 2) Now add in the tomatoes , turmeric powder, coriander powder, chili powder, required salt and cook until the tomatoes are nice and soft.

Step 3) In the meanwhile make coconut paste using grated coconut, cumin, fennel , poppy seeds, cashews and grind along with some water and keep it aside.

Step 4) Once the tomatoes are soft add required water and let it boil for sometime. Finally add in the coconut paste and let it cook for 10 more minutes. Finally add coriander leaves for garnishing and turn off the heat.
