Quantity Ingredients for making Onion Bonda recipe
2 largeOnion (or 4 medium sized)
4 Green Chilies
1 tbsp Ginger
1 sping Curry leaves
3 tbsp Coriander leaves
1/2 tspFennel seeds
2 tsp Chili powder
pinch of asafoetida
1.5 tsp Salt
1 cupBesan flour
1/2 cup Rice flour
2 tbsp hot Oil
required water

Cooking Method

Step 1) Slice the onions lengthwise and add it to a bowl. Add slit green chilies, fennel seeds, Chili powder, Asafoetida, curry leaves  coriander leaves (finely chopped)  and salt. Mix all the ingredients well.

Step 2) Add besan and rice flour to the onions and also add in 2 tbsp of hot oil and  mix well. Do not add water at this point, because the onions releases its own moisture so sprinkle water only when you are ready for frying.

Step 3) Once you are ready to fry sprinkle a very little amount of water, just enough to bind them together.Do not add too much of water, if we add more water then it will not be crispy.

Step 4) Heat oil in a kadai and once the oil is nice and hot deep fry them in small batches.Once it turns nice and crispy drain the excess oil and take it off from the oil.

That's it our crispy Onion Bonda is ready to be served with a cup of hot tea/ coffee.
