Rava Dosa Recipe

Rava Dosa is a crispy delicious breakfast recipe which can be make quickly , it does not require any soaking, grinding  or fermentation . We can simply combine all the ingredients and make it quickly in no time. This crispy delicious dosa is made with rava and rice flour. A cup of filter coffee along with this rawa dosa tastes heavenly. My favorite combination is Coconut chutney and Tiffin sambar. Lets get started.

Serving Size           : 4 people 

Preparation Time  : 20 minutes

Cooking Time        : 4 minutes for each dosa

Quantity Ingredients for Rava Dosa Recipe
1 cup Rava (200 grams)
1 cupRice flour (160 gram)
2 tbspMaida / all purpose flour
2 tbsp Curd
1 tbsp Finely chopped Ginger
2 Finely chopped Green chilies
1/2 tsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp Pepper corns
1 spring Finely chopped  Curry leaves
Onion (finely chopped )

Salt as required
plenty of water

Coriander leaves ( optional )

Ghee or oil 

Cooking Method


Step 1) Into a mixing bowl add rava, rice flour, maida, curd, ginger, cumin, pepper, green chilies , curry leaves and salt. Mix well and add water to form a thin batter (we need to add more water for making rava dosa) Let it rest for 15 -20 minutes.



Step 2) Now after 15 minutes add finely chopped onion and mix well, add more water if required. Batter should be very watery only then holes will be formed. Add more and more water if required.


Step 3) Heat a tawa, Make sure the tawa is very hot. Pour a ladle of watery rava dosa mix and spread it all around the tawa. sprinkle some coriander leaves on the top and finally drizzle some oil or ghee on the top. Let it cook for 3 -4 minutes.


Step 4) Once the Rawa dosa  turns golden and cripsy take it off from the pan. Rava dosai takes longer time to cook than the regular dosa, it takes minimum 3 - 4 minutes.
