English Toffee Recipe

English Toffee is a very simple recipe which can be made under 30 minutes. All we need is Butter and Sugar. This is a perfect recipe to distribute during holidays and Christmas, Kids and adults will definitely enjoy this delicious homemade Toffee. The taste of this recipe will be similar to lacto King chocolate which was popular during our childhood. If we follow some tips and tricks we will be able to get prefer toffees every time. Let's see how to make this delicious Toffees. 



Serving Size            : 5- 7

Preparation Time  : 10 minutes

Cooking Time        : 15 minutes

Quantity Ingredients for Toffee Recipe
200 g  Butter (unsalted Butter) (1 cup)
200 gSugar (1 cup) 
1/8 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Water

Cashews (optional)

Chocolate (optional)

Cooking Method


Step 1) Heat butter, Sugar, water, Salt in a pan over medium heat. Do not reduce the amount of butter, toffee will turn hard. Stir it continuously. It will soon begin to change its color.


Step 5) As you can see it has started changing its color, keep on stirring until it reaches 310 F or 155 C. Keep on medium heat or it soon become dark and tastes bitter. Once it reaches that particular consistency turn off the heat , if we cook longer then it will turn hard and will taste bitter.


Step 3) If you don't have a thermometer then pour a spoon full of sugar - butter mixture into a bowl of cold water (chill water) , if it breaks instantly then the consistency of the toffee mix is perfect. if it doesn't become hard and it you can press it then the consistency is incorrect, we need to heat little longer.




Step 4) Immediately pour the mix to a wide pan and sprinkle some roasted cashews on top, we can also use almonds, pistachio and walnuts. I have divided it into two and have spread some chocolate over other half and then topped with nuts. Allow it to cool for 2 -3 hours before breaking.
