|Quantity||Ingredients for Sweet Pongal Recipe|
|1 tsp Ghee + 1 tbsp (roasting nuts) + 4 tbsp (final)|
|1 cup||Raw Rice / பச்சரிசி (200g)|
|1/2 cup||Moong Dal / பாசிப்பருப்பு (100g)|
|2 cup||Jaggery (400g)|
|1 tsp||Cardamom powder|
We need to cook the rice until turns soft and mushy, that is the reason we are adding more water.
Step 3) Melt ghee and roast cashews and raisins and keep it aside. Now in the same pan add powdered jaggey, water and melt. Strain the jaggery syrup to collect any dirt.
Step 4) Add the jaggery syrup to the cooked rice and dal and mix well. Finally add cardamom powder, roasted nuts and plenty of ghee and mix well. Cook for 2 more minutes and turn off the heat.
