Cashew Macaroon recipe

Macroon is a famous recipe of Thoothukudi which is made with just three ingredients-  Egg whites, Sugar and cashews, we can replace cashews for Almonds too.

Makes         : 25 pc
Prep Time   : 20 min
Bake Time  : 90 min

Quantity Ingredients for making Macroon
1/2 cupEgg Whites(3 large egg / 100 g)
1/2 cup Sugar (100 g)
1 cup Cashews(125 g)

Cooking Method


Step 1) Powder sugar in a blender and keep it aside.

Step 2) Powder Cashews in few pulses and keep it aside.

Step 3) Separate egg yolks and whites (Eggs should be at room temperate). Transfer the whites to a clean bowl and with an electric beater whisk whites for 2 minutes and then add sugar and beat again until you get stiff peak.(add sugar in three batches ).

Step 4) Then add the powdered Cashews from step 2 and gently mix. Transfer it to a piping bag and make macroons.

Step 5) Bake at 200 F / 100 C for 1 hr 30 minutes.

Our delicious Thoothukudi macroons are ready to be enjoyed. Happy Cooking!!!
