Milk cake Recipe

Milk cake is a delicious festival sweet often made during Diwali, its made using just 3 ingredients - milk, sugar and lemon juice. Adding lemon juice curdles the milk and gives nice texture to the recipe. It may take some time but the end result is worth the effort. Lets get started.

Pieces                     : 9 to 10

Preparation Time : 5 minutes

Cooking Time       : 2 hours

Quantity Ingredients for Milk cake Recipe
2 literfull fat milk ( approximately 4 cups) 
1 tbsp Lemon juice ( 1/2 lemon)
200 gSugar (1 cup )

Pinch of cardamom powder

Cooking Method


Step 1) In a heavy bottomed pan add milk and let it reduce , it takes approximately 1.30 hours, scrape down the edges to collect the milk solids. Once the milk thickens and reduces and lemon juice and mix well. Within few seconds the milk cuddles .


Step 2) once the milk cuddles add sugar and mix well. Continue to cook until the mixture thickens, it takes approximately 20 more minutes.


Step 3) Now at this stage add cardamom powder and cook for another 5 minutes or until the mixture becomes thick as shown below.


Step 4) Transfer it to a greased plate and let it cool completely. Now after 4 to 6 hours cut it into desired shapes and that's it our delicious milk cake / milk sweet is ready to be enjoyed.
