Paneer Pulao Recipe

Paneer Pulao is a famous recipe of India which is quite easy to make and it tastes delicious. This Paneer Pulao recipe is made in one pot which makes the dish more flavorful.

Quantity Ingredients for Chicken Pulao Recipe

To fry Paneer
250 g Paneer
1/2 tsp Chili powder 
1/8 tsp Salt
2 tbsp Butter

For Paneer Pulao
2 tbsp Ghee / Clarified Butter
2 Tbsp Oil
2 bay leaves , 3 cardamom , 4 cloves , 
1 Cinnamon Stick , 2 Star anise
10 -12 Pepper corns
3 Green Chilies
1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
10 Cashews
1 largeOnion
5-6 Beans
1 tsp Chili powder
1 tsp Garam masala
5-6 Beans
1/4 cupPeas
2 cup Basmati Rice
3 cup Water   
Handful coriander and Mint leaves

Salt to taste

Cooking Method


Step 1)
In a mixing bowl add the paneer and marinate with chili powder and salt. fry the paneer in ghee or oil until golden.

Step 2) 
In a heavy bottom pan melt ghee and oil (ghee imparts nice flavor and taste to the recipe).Then add the whole spices - bay leaves, cinnamon, cardamom, star anise, cloves and pepper corns. Mix it once and then add sliced onions, green chilies and ginger garlic paste.

Step 3) 
Once the onions turns golden add chopped veggies - Carrot, beans,peas and cook for 2 minutes. Then the masalas - chili powder and garam masala. Cook for few seconds and then add the soaked basmati rice (soak for 20 -30 minutes), 3 cups of water, Salt . Cover and cook until the rice is done.If you are using a pressure cooked then cook for 1 whistle on a medium heat.

Step 4)
Then add in the fried Paneer, Cashews, Mint and coriander leaves, cover and cook for 5 minutes. Finally add a tsp of ghee and gently stir the rice.
