Milk Powder Burfi Recipe / Milk Burfi under 20 minutes

Milk burfi is a festive sweet of India often distributed during Diwali and other Indian festivals, its made using just 4 main ingredients - Milk powder, sugar , Milk and Ghee. This recipe does not require much time and effort, all we need is just 20 minutes of our time and that's it. Lets see how to make this delicious milk burfi using milk powder.Lets get started.

Preparation Time : 5 minutes

Cooking Time       : 20 minutes

Quantity Ingredients for Milk powder Burfi Recipe
2 cupMilk powder (250 gram)
1 cupPowdered Sugar (150 gram)
1/2 cupMilk (120 ml)
1/2 cupGhee (120 ml)
1/4 tspCardamom powder

chopped nuts and saffron for garnishing

Cooking Method

Step 1) In a heavy bottomed pan melt ghee and add milk and stir well. Now add in the milk powder and mix well without any lumps.

Step 2) Once well mixed add powdered sugar and mix well. Sugar melts and releases moisture, soon it will start to thicken.  Continue to cook until the mixture thickens, it takes approximately 15 minutes.Now add in Cardamom powder and mix well.

Step 3) From start to finish keep the flame on sim (medium-low to prevent burning). Once it start leaving the pan without sticking then we know it is at right consistency. Now to check the consistency take a small portion of the mixture and place it on a plate and roll it, it should not stick to your hands. If we cook for a long time then it might turn hard.

Step 4) Transfer it to a greased plate and add some chopped nuts and saffron for garnishing and press it gently on the top , let it cool completely. Now after 3 hours cut it into desired shapes and that's it our delicious milk Burfi using milk powder / milk sweet is ready to be enjoyed.
