Ingredients:
Aval / Phoa / Flattened Rice Flakes - 1 cup
Jaggery / Vellam - 5 tsp
Grated Coconut - ¼ cup
Cardamom / Elachi - ¼ tsp
Cashewnut - 4 small pieces.
Ghee - ¼ tsp
Water for sprinkling.
METHOD.
Step 1) Sprinkle
little water in the Aval / Phoa and keep aside.
Step 2) For syrup, heat water and jaggery until it
dissolves . Filter it through a strainer.
Step 3) In a pan add
ghee, cahewnuts and roast. Now add the
grated coconut and fry it for 2 minutes.
Step 4) Once the
colour of coconut changes add Aval/Poha , Cardamom powder.
Aval/Poha
Urundai is ready to serve.
