Serving Size          :  4

Preparation Time : 15 minutes

Cooking Time       : 20 min

Difficulty

Quantity Ingredients for Asoka Halwa Recipe
1/2 cup Moong Dhal (Paasi Paruppu) 100 gram
2 tbsp  Wheat flour or Maida
1 cupSugar (200 gram)
1/2 cup Ghee (120 ml)
2 tbsp Cashews
1 pinch Red or Orange food color (optional)
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

Cooking Method

Step 1) Wash the moong dal and add it to a cooker . Add enough water ( I have added 1.5 cup water ). Cover the cooker and cook for 4 whistles  or until the dhal is nice and mushy.

Step 2) Mash it well or transfer the cooked dhal to a mixer and grind it smooth. Make sure to slightly cool the dhal  before grinding.

Step 3) Melt 4 tbsp of ghee in a pan and roast the cashews, once they turn golden take it out of the pan and keep it aside. Now in the same pan add the wheat flour and roast for a minute until the raw smell is gone. ( Wheat flour is added to get texture) .

Step 4) Then add the mashed dhal and cook for few minutes. Once it starts to thicken add sugar and mix well. The mixture loosens as soon as we add sugar. Keep it on a medium heat and cook until everything thickens.
Cook on a medium heat

Step 5) Gradually add in the rest of the ghee, 1 tbsp at a time and keep on cooking. The mixture thickens soon and rotates together without sticking to the pan. Finally add food color (mix with water and then add ) and mix well until the color is distributed evenly.

Step 6) Now add cardamom powder to get nice flavor, roasted cashews and also add 1 tbsp ghee  and mix well. Cook for few more minutes and turn off the heat.

That's is our delicious Asoka halwa is ready to be enjoyed. You can add some nuts on the top to make it attractive. Please do try the recipe and enjoy with your friends and family

  19. Ashoka Halwa, wash and soak moong dal in water for 2-3 hours, then grind it into a coarse paste. Heat ghee in a pan and add the ground moong dal, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Add sugar and ghee gradually, stirring continuously, until the mixture becomes more liquidy. Add cardamom powder and saffron-soaked milk, cooking until the halwa reaches a thick, non-sticky consistency. Garnish with cashews and raisins, roasting them in a separate pan. Add edible camphor for flavor. Cook until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan and the ghee starts to separate. Serve the halwa warm, garnishing with more nuts if desired. Remember that making halwa requires patience and continuous stirring to achieve the right texture. Adjust the sugar and ghee amount based on your taste preferences. Enjoy your homemade Ashoka Halwa!dui en virginia

  20. To make the Ashoka Halwa, rinse and soak moong dal in water for 2-3 hours, then drain it completely. Grind the soaked dal into a coarse paste without adding water. Heat a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat and add ghee to melt. Roast the ground moong dal paste in the ghee until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma, which may take 15-20 minutes. Add sugar and cardamom powder or saffron strands to the pan, mixing well to incorporate flavors. Cook the mixture until it thickens and has a halwa-like consistency. Transfer the Ashoka Halwa to a serving dish and roast cashews and raisins in a separate pan. Garnish the Ashoka Halwa with the roasted nuts and raisins. Serve warm or at room temperature to enjoy the rich and aromatic flavors of this delicious South Indian dessert. This recipe yields approximately 4 servings, and you can adjust the sweetness by increasing or decreasing the amount of sugar used.semi truck accident law firm
