|Quantity||Ingredients for Asoka Halwa Recipe|
|1/2 cup||Moong Dhal (Paasi Paruppu) 100 gram|
|2 tbsp||Wheat flour or Maida|
|1 cup||Sugar (200 gram)|
|1/2 cup||Ghee (120 ml)|
|1 pinch||Red or Orange food color (optional)|
|1/2 tsp||Cardamom powder|
Step 1) Wash the moong dal and add it to a cooker . Add enough water ( I have added 1.5 cup water ). Cover the cooker and cook for 4 whistles or until the dhal is nice and mushy.
Step 3) Melt 4 tbsp of ghee in a pan and roast the cashews, once they turn golden take it out of the pan and keep it aside. Now in the same pan add the wheat flour and roast for a minute until the raw smell is gone. ( Wheat flour is added to get texture) .
Cook on a medium heat
