Vegetable Burger Recipe / Veggie Burger Patties

Vegetable Burger Recipe is a pumped up version of Aloo Tikki burger because the veggie burger patties are made from several vegetables and are more flavorful. It is very easy to make and  this vegetable burger recipe is made in indian style and is spicy and filled with flavors.

Quantity Ingredients for Burger Recipe
For the veg Patty
1 tsp Oil
1Onion
6-7Beans
1/2 cup  Cauliflower 
1/2 cup Green peas
2Green chilies
1/2 tspCumin powder
1 tsp Garam masala powder
2pottaoes (boiled and mashed)
2 tbsp Maida / All purpose flour
2 tbsp Chopped Coriander leaves

For Coating
1/2 cup Bread Crumbs
2 tbsp Maida / All purpose flour
2 tbsp Corn flour / corn starch
Water 

Oil for frying

For Assembling
4 Burger buns

Mayonnaise, lettuce, onion, tomatoes, Cheese, pickle

Mustard sauce and tomato ketchup 

Cooking Method



Step 1) Veg patty:
Heat oil in a pan and the finely chopped onions , once the onions turns  translucent add the finely chopped vegetables - Carrot, beans, cauliflower and green peas.
Add Green chilies, cumin powder, garam masala and saute for 2 minutes, we don't have to cook for a long time, sweating the veggies are fine. 


Step 2) Boil and mash 2 potatoes and add it to a bowl, also add the cooked veggies, chopped coriander leaves , maida , salt and pepper. Mix well , do not add water.


Step 3) Veg Patties:
Take a small portion of the mixture and make it into a thick patty. This makes 4 patties (do not make it small, It should be big enough to cover the buns.


Step 4) Coating:
Now to coat the patties we will need bread crumbs, and in a separate bowl mix all purpose flour and corn starch with water and form a semi thick batter.
Take a patty ,dip it in the maida corn starch mixture and the roll it into the bread crumbs. Shake off any excess crumbs. Similarly do it with the rest of the patties.


Step 5) Frying the patties:
After coating the patties in bread crumbs fry them on medium heat until golden brown on both the sides (flip them halfway) .We either deep fry or shallow fry the patties.


Step 6) Arranging:
Toasting the burger buns are optional, I like to toast my burger buns so for toasting spread a thin layer of butter and toast the buns.
Then add your favorite choices, I have added -Mayonnaise, lettuce, onion, tomatoes, patty, cheese, pickle, mustard sauce and tomato ketchup.
