| 250g | Prawns / Shrimp |
| 10 | Shallots |
| 1/4 tsp | Mustard Seeds |
| 1/2 tsp | Cumin Seeds |
| 2 | Dry Red Chilies |
| few | Curry Leaves |
| 1/4 tsp | Turmeric powder |
| 2 | Green Chilies |
| 1/2 tsp | Chili Powder (optional) |
| 1/2 cup | Cup Grated Coconut |
| 1 Tbsp | Coconut Oil |
| Salt to taste |
Cooking Method |
Step 1) In a pan heat 1 tbsp Coconut oil (Coconut oil enhances the taste and adds a unique flavor to the Kootu. To temper add some mustard seeds, cumin seeds,dried red chilies, some curry leaves.Then add the shallots (small onions) and green Chilies and saute it for a minute.
Step 4) Add the Grated Coconut and cook until the prawns are fully cooked (I have used medium sized prawns so it took 10 minutes)
