Coconut Bun

Coconut Bun is is our all time favorite childhood snack recipe which have plenty of sweet coconut stuffing and added tutti frutti adds extra fancy and taste to the recipe.

Serves          : 6 pc
Prep Time   : 10 min
Cook Time  : 25 min

Quantity Ingredients for making Coconut Bun 
1/2 cupMilk (125 ml)
2 tsp Yeast (7 g)
1 tsp Sugar
2 cup Maida
3 tbsp Sugar
pinch of Salt 
4 tbsp melted Butter

For Stuffing
1.5 cup grated Coconut
1/4 cup Cherry
1/2 cup Tutti frutti
3 tbsp Sugar
3 Cardamom
2 tbsp Milk for brushing

Cooking Method


Step 1) Into a bowl add warm milk, 1 tsp sugar, yeast and let the yeast bloom.

Step 2) Into a mixing bowl add maida, 3 tbsp sugar, salt, melted unsalted butter, yeast milk from step 1 and knead for 10 min. Coat with oil and let it rest for 1 hr 30 min.

Step 3) Into a mixing bowl combine finely chopped onion, grated carrot, chopped green chilies, coriander leaves and mix well.

Step 4) In a mixing bowl add grated coconut, chopped cherry, tutti frutti, sugar (powder 3 tbsp sugar along with 3 cardamom). Mix well and keep it aside.

Step 5) Now once the dough is doubled divide it into 2 and roll them little thick. On the top of one sheet stuff coconut filling and cover with other sheet and seal the edges. Let it rest for another 15 min.

Step 6) Now brush with milk or egg and bake at 350 F /175 C for 25 min.

That's it our delicious Coconut bun is ready to be served. Please do try this recipe at home and share it with your friends and family.
