Curry Powder Recipe

Curry Powder is an Indian spice mix which is very popular all around the world.Toady in the US it can be found in most of the super markets.This Curry masala can be used in many recipes and it adds a unique flavor and taste to the recipe. Even though there are are lot of curry powders available in the stores home made curry masala powder adds a very unique taste and aroma to each and every recipe you make. This powder can be added in all types of vegetarian and non veg recipes it is very similar to our Garam masala powder. 

Curry-Masala-Powder

Quantity INGREDIENTS
2 Tbsp Coriander Seeds
1 Tbsp Cumin seeds
1 tsp Fennel seeds
1 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp Pepper corns
5 Dry red Chilies 
3 Cloves
3Cardamom
2Cinnamon Stick
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder


Cooking Method


Step 1) Dry roast coriander seeds ,cumin seeds, fennel seeds, mustard seeds, pepper corns ,red chilies, Cardamom, cloves, cinnamon sticks in a pan for 5-6 minutes on a medium-low heat until you feel a nice aroma of the roasted seeds.Be careful while roasting do not burn them

Step 2) once the mixture cools down transfer it to a blender and also add turmeric powder and grind it to a very fine powder.You can store this in an air tight container and can be used upto 8-10 months.
Its very important to cool the roasted seeds before grinding.
