Donuts Recipe

Donut is an awesome recipe enjoyed by all ages of people. This is a simple recipe made with yeast.  we can glaze them with sugar, chocolate , icing sugar and lot more. Today i have used eggs , to make it eggless then use 1/4 cup of curd to the recipe instead of egg.

Quantity Ingredients for Donuts Recipe
1 tspYeast 
1 tspSugar
1/2 cup Milk (luke warm) 

For the dough
2 cupMaida / All purpose flour
1/4 cupSugar
Egg
2 tbsp Butter @ room temperature
1/2 tsp Salt

For Sugar glaze
1/2 cup Powdered Sugar
1 tbsp  Milk

Cooking Method


Step 1) Activate yeast:
Activating yeast is a very important step in making Donut. Add Sugar to luke warm milk (105 F - 110 F), (42 - 43 C ) then add yeast to it and mix it well and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Once the yeast is activated lets prepare the dough.


Step 2) Preparing the dough:
In a mixing bowl combine Maida, Sugar, egg, salt , butter (softened at room temperature) , yeast milk mixture. Mix well to form a soft and a sticky dough. 
Once well mixed transfer the dough to work surface and knead for minimum 5 minutes.  Kneading softens the dough and soon after kneading dough will no more stick to your hands.


Step 3) First Proofing:
Once after kneading transfer the dough to a greased bowl , also apply few drops of oil on the top to prevent drying. Keep it undisturbed for 1.30 to 2 hours or until the dough doubles in size. 


Step 4) Now after 2 hours transfer the dough to work area and spread it into a thick sheet. Use a donut press or use two circles to cut it into donut shape. Transfer it to a baking pan / any tray and let it proof for another 30 minutes.


Step 5) After 30 minutes fry the donuts in oil (at medium temperature ) until golden or golden brown.


Step 6) For the sugar glaze: Into a bowl add powdered sugar and milk, mix it to form a thick paste. Then dip the donut and that's it.


Finally coat the donut holes with sugar and cinnamon powder. That's it our delicious donuts are ready to be enjoyed.
