Potato Fry Recipe

Potato Fry is a quick and simple recipe to make which goes excellent with all types of variety rice like -  Curd rice, Lemon Rice, Tomato Rice, Mint Rice, Ghee rice and also with Sambar rice. My mom packs potato fry for lunch as a side for variety rice and my friends always enjoyed my mom's recipe. I learnt this recipe recipe from my mom and it saved me a lot of time while packing lunch for my husband. When I am left with only potatoes this recipe is a great alternative, rice along with curd and potato fry makes the lunch simply delicious and fulfilling.

Quantity Ingredients for Potato Fry Recipe
2 large Potatoes
1/8 tsp Turmeric powder
1 tspChili powder
1 tsp Fennel Seeds
1/8 tsp Mustard seeds
1/2 or 1 Sliced Onion
1 spring Curry leaves
2 tbsp Oil

Salt to taste

Cooking Method


Step 1)
Peel the skin of the potatoes and cut them into small pieces, I like to cut them long like this you can also cut them into small bite size pieces. Season with turmeric powder and chilli powder to ensure even coating of the masalas.


Step 2)
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and half of the fennel seeds , give it a stir and then add the potatoes. roast it for some time.


Step 3)
Once the potatoes are half done add sliced Onion , required salt and roast until the onions and the potatoes are fully roasted - sides turns crispy.
Finally add the remaining half of the fennel seeds and the curry leaves for falvoring and turn off the heat.

Ingredients:
  • For Potato Fry Recipe
  • 2 Potatoes
  • 1/8 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1/8 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/2 Sliced Onion
  • 1 spring Curry leaves
  • 2 tbsp of oil
  • Salt to taste
Instructions:

  1. Add turmeric , chili powder and coat the potatoes
  2. Heat oil in a pan and temper with mustard seeds and fennel seeds
  3. Add the potatoes and roast for some time
  4. Add sliced onions ,salt and roast until it is fully done
  5. Finally add fennel seeds and curry leaves for flavoring and turn off the heat
  6. Our Potato fry is ready to be served with any variety rice of your choice
